Rancho Mirage High School with heavy metal aerosols above and at three miles distance a major radio frequency antenna cluster atop a hill. The EMF exposure at the school is unacceptable. This is too bad because the pay for the Palm Springs Unified School District is one of the best in Riverside County. No school district utilizes HEPA filtration (MERV 15 and above) for its classrooms. I think most use a MERV 8, which doesn't capture anything smaller than 3 microns. This is next to useless because some 98% of airborne particles are below 1 micron in size -- and anything below 6 microns goes straight into the blood stream via the lungs.

I recently purchased two HEPA air purifiers for my classroom. The air is certainly not dawn-of-man quality, but it is better than doing nothing at all. I like the Winix brand air purifiers (*) (pic) because of their prefilter screen and middle carbon filter, both of which can be vacuumed weekly to extend the life of the HEPA filter beneath. I am working with Risk Management to be able to turn off the industrial Wi-Fi router that is just three feet above my head at the center of the room. I might just encapsulate it in aluminum foil if I can't get a different wiring system for it that allows me to turn it on and off at will.
With respect to Rancho Mirage High School, there are several towers in the vicinity, much closer than the antenna farm shown above.
