Defend the First and Second Amendments! - A Response to Jared Lee Loughner's Shooting Deaths of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Judge John Roll

I wrote the following email to California Senators Barbara Boxer (pdf) and Dianne Feinstein (pdf) today, as well as Representative Elton Gallegly (pdf). I will return to this page as time allows to do a better job proofing it, and to add to and improve upon the facts presented here.

In the past I would write political letters and then send them in through the US Mail, a method of communication that was both more expensive and time consuming. Now, if we could just implement the public funding of campaigns and get the corrupting influence of money out of Washington DC, an effort like mine here might have a reasonable impact.

The following letter is far from perfect. In the preceding week I had a growing sense that people must speak out on the issue of the recent shooting that was being so hyped and distorted by the corporate-fascist media. I am a busy person, and all I had available to me was a few hours this morning to do this. I don't intend to pass myself off as an expert on this matter. But I do believe, based on what I've read and heard, that the gist of my letter is correct. Whenever possible we should err on the side of freedom and liberty, rather than going down the left-handed path that leads to tyranny and increased government control. It is ESSENTIAL to the unwinding of this growing police state in the US that we understand the elite's use of false flag terror / staged crises in order to further their agenda of consolidating power and silencing dissent. They've written about it themselves in their think tank "white papers." It's called problem-reaction-solution, whereby they create the problem, that produces the desired reaction in the public (fear, paranoia -- whatever it takes to have the masses grovel to and worship government), to which they offer the "solution" (decreased civil liberties, more taxation, whatever) that they had planned all along. This is a psychological operation to enlist the acquiescence/support of the sheeple (i.e., the cowed masses). It's SOP -- standard operating procedure -- for our overlords in the military-industrial-financial complex. The end game, as Alex Jones notes, is not merely the increased economic fleecing of the public, but the orderly extermination of 95% of the 6.5 billion humans that the elites consider so much detritus to be disposed of. If this process goes unchecked, I imagine that by 2050, if not sooner, you will see this eugenics-based culling of the species occur.

Subject: Defend First and Second Amendments!

Dear Honorable So-and-So:

This letter is a request that you defend our nation's First and Second Amendments.

The recent killing of six and wounding of 14 people in Arizona was a tragedy. I am deeply sorry that this happened.

However, this incident should in no way justify a reverse course to our nation's unparalleled history of civil liberties and Constitutional protections.

The proposed collective punishment [i.e., restricting gun ownership and freedom of speech for every citizen in our nation] for this individual's crime is a strikingly un-American response. In the United States it is the individual who is responsible for his or her actions, not society as a whole. In fact, it is precisely this reason why the United States is not a democracy, but rather a constitutional republic, where the rights of a minority -- or even one person -- cannot be taken away at the whim of the majority without due process of law and Constitutional review. As the saying goes, "Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner."

The following is based on my review of perhaps 20 news articles and video reports on the actions of Jared Lee Loughner in Tuscon, Arizona on January 8, 2011.

Loughner was a heavy drug user, including reportedly smoking marijuana and, more importantly, taking the hallucinogen salvia daily. Multiple acquaintances report a dark transformation in him in the months preceding the attack. Loughner's grip on reality was loose at best. He was under the care of a psychiatrist. We should subpoena those records.

Loughner reportedly made several death threats during the year before the fatal shooting. Police visited him at his home at least three times, but nothing was done. Those records are sealed. Loughner passed the criminal background check that allowed him to purchase the hand gun just months before the incident.

Loughner was reported to be obsessed with Representative Giffords since his first contact with her at a town meeting in 2007. Loughner kept pictures of Giffords, political correspondence from her, and personal notes about her in his home safe. For whatever reason, Loughner felt slighted, and the tragic shooting was his revenge.

Loughner had worked at an animal shelter and a Quizmo's sandwich shop, being fired eventually from both jobs. Prior to his dark transformation, friends reported Loughner to be a kind and "very liberal" person who was not politically motivated, and spent little time following news or talk radio. According to Loughner's MySpace page, he was a fan of a wide range of materials, including Karl Marx's "The Communist Manifesto," Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland," and Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged." There is no evidence of a pattern to his thought or influences.

In a YouTube video of Loughner he wears a grim reaper outfit and a WalMart store smiley-face mask as he lights the US flag on fire. The flag burning is set to loud death metal music with the lyrics "let the bodies hit the floor" repeated over and over. According to some commentators, Loughner was in a "topper" competition with others as to who could be the most outrageous in their conduct.

In Mexico there is no freedom of speech, and it is illegal for citizens to own guns. Nevertheless, Mexico is among the most dangerous countries in the world for government servants, and over 30,000 Mexicans have been murdered along the border with the United States in the past two years alone. When private gun ownership is outlawed, only the criminals will own guns. Among the most dangerous cities in the country, for example Chicago and New York City, are also cities that make it nearly impossible for law abiding citizens to own guns. In such cities criminals know that their victims are disarmed. They know that they can break into homes even when the occupants are there, an act that is rare when gun ownership is the norm.

Writes Congressman Dennis DeConcini in 1982 (pdf), "The right to bear arms is a tradition with deep roots in American society. Thomas Jefferson proposed that 'no free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms,' and Samuel Adams called for an amendment banning any law 'to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.' The Constitution of the State of Arizona, for example, recognizes the 'right of an individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the State' "

Loughner was not a trained gunman. I find it highly unlikely that he could have injured and killed so many people by himself. A second gunman is reported to have fled the scene, but this fact reported early on has been buried. Also, there are no reported interviews with the taxi cab driver who drove Loughner to the shopping center. I also find it most implausible that Laughner's two main targets would be public servants who have proven so hostile to the expansion of federal power. (Congresswoman Giffords, though a democrat, was a staunch supporter of the second amendment, and advocated strict border control. Judge Roll, as a constitutionalist, had overturned attempts by the federal government to restrict gun ownership in the state, and had ruled against the abrogation of states' rights via the Obama administration's unconstitutional executive order made earlier in the year that created a Council of [10] Governors (pdf) that will replace the individual states' governors in the event of a national crisis [as determined by the president].)

I am discouraged that the surveillance tapes have yet to be released. Let us have a public review and ballistics tests for all bullets discharged at the scene.

Also, where was Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik at the time of the shooting? Why was there no security detail, or even a sheriff dispatched to be present at the Congress woman's outdoor event?

As well, I find it highly suspicious that the Obama administration would have 14,000 "Together We Thrive" t-shirts ready to go for his /pre-campaign/mourning rally less than two days after the incident.

From Truth Is Treason: "It was announced with little notice that none other than attorney Judy Clarke would be defending Loughner. Judy Clarke has made a career handling suspects at the center of high-profile globalist gambits, including the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, Olympic bomber Eric Rudolph, Oklahoma City Bomber Timothy McVeigh, and 9/11′s Zacarias Moussaoui. To say Clarke has an impressive collection of mentally deranged patsies would be an understatement. One must wonder whether Judy Clarke’s skill set is really that impressive and unique in defending a particular brand of lunatic, coincidentally involved in “anti-government” violence or whether her involvement and reliability indicates a certain level of control and quarantine needed for a cover-up."

Clearly, Loughner's actions stem from his own personal mental illness, not his political or philosophical leanings. He spoke frequently of his being under "mind control." Whether psychological tampering occurred that led to Loughner's rapid decline in mental health, the public does not know at this point. But it is clear that certain elements of the government have seized upon this tragedy to further their agenda to criminalize speech and disarm the public.

I find the government's response to this event highly disingenuous, given the near absence of handwringing by the corporate media or our public servants regarding the Anglo-American empire's ongoing genocide that is responsible for the deaths of 2 million innocent Iraqis, Afghanis, and Pakastanis. As the communist Russian tyrant Stalin famously said, "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic."
